  • CREDITON SQUASH SPONSORS

Sponsorship should be treated as a mutually beneficial arrangement. A business imparts finance in order to support for example a sports team or club. All too often though, money is given in good faith and used without a mutual benefit. At Crediton Squash its all very different: - We have a varied non competing set of excellent sponsors who have really assisted the club. The club has again performed above expectation with their three league teams. Division 4 Winners, a team in the premiership, a world ranked 199 player and Devon Champion, an england ranked U-19 top 20, representation in Devon Co U-19 and U-17 teams as well as an 80yr old squash playing President. In return Crediton Squash promotes their sponsors business via word, website, posters and playing shirts. The squash club aims to create enough business for the sponsors to at least cover their 'Investment' and encourage them to continue their support for the next season. Additionally sponsors gain goodwill from their generosity and a healthy glow from their sporting association, not least their input is tax deductable. Some of our sponsors in Crediton are already in £positive territory.

Our grateful thanks to our sponsors :

    SA@W (Health & Safety),

    Pathfinder Park Homes,

    YOKK SOLAR &

    Perry Prowse Insurance.

  • Congratulations CREDITON SQUASH on a successful 2011/2012 Season

In their first season came very close to winning matches. Ollie Coupe went to 5 sets 3 times, Paul Sandercock won his last match and Ben Hancock also won one. Sam Ellis won 7 ironically 5 of them at No 1, the little man bears the weight of high office well! Mike Harris also won 7 but playing on the international circuit curtailed his appearances. (Mike's World Ranking is up to 199).

Crediton 2 having been challenging for top spot pulled out a good lead before being pegged back by a couple of late shock defeats. A good final result v Newton Abbot 19-5 secured the division win by 5 points ahead of Torquay. Pete Harvey and Mike Trick were outstandingly consistant winning 15 and 16 matches respectively. Indeed Mike Trick ended the season as Divison 4's best player, well done Mike. Captain Johnnie Squash Rattenbury while struggling for victories ably captained the side to victory. Division 3 will test their resolve for top spot second year running. WELL DONE C2 an excellent result.

Crediton 3 finished in 6th position and most definitely their best ever. Captain Gerald Abdoll presided over a side from very young to less young! New up and comer Jake Griffiths summed up Crediton Squash. He was all over the place last year but with coaching from Mike Harria and the calm captaincy of Gerald he pulled off 5 wins and was very close to several more. Pete Twort won 12, Ben Hancock 15 and the rapidy improving Gary Abdoll 9.

A most credit(on)able performance to everyone involved. A lot of committment for a lot of fit healthy sporting fun and tough competition. Long may it all continue. Have a restful summer and look forward to the new season next september.

  • Crediton 2 secure promotion

Following an excellent season, with only 2 defeats, Crediton 2 have secured promotion to Division 3. Promotion places have been hotly contested all season, particular between Crediton 2, Torquay 5 and Torquay 6. As the season reached it's end the challenge from Torquay 6 faded, and their defeat at Exeter University 3 confirmed Crediton's promotion.

This week sees the final round of fixtures and 1st place is still to play for. Crediton 2 are neck and neck with Torquay 5, separated only by 4 points.

Here's hoping a final push from Crediton 2 could see them crowned Divsion 4 winners.

  • 2011 What a year

The first half of the 2011/2012 season has shown Crediton Club to be solid, resilient and not without surprises. Crediton 1 found the premiership hard going but still came close to winning matches. Mike Harris is in a different league and current Devon Champ, Sam Ellis has been outstanding especially in winning two No 1 matches when Mike was unavailable. We hope Steve Rickard's groin mends soon.

Crediton 2 are unbeaten and top D4 by one point. Tricky is still unbeaten as is Brad Taylor and Matt Yates. Darren dropped one and Pete a couple. Capt Johnnie Squash maintains his record also as most successful captain!

Come on C2 you can win it.........

Crediton 3 are well placed in 5th position despite only 3 wins. The losses could so easily have been a v different tale. Ben lost just one and Pete Twort a couple. Gary and Jake have progressed really well. Capt Abdoll has lead the side well and also maintains a similar record to the C2 capt despite huge improvenents in fitness and skills!!!

Thanks to Mike Harris for his well received and most beneficial coaching, the captains and our sponsors.

Welcome to Yokk Solar our most recent sponsor.
